UV-Vis Spectrophotometer

Thermo Scientific NanoDrop 8000 UV-Vis Spectrophotometers are used in academic, biopharmaceutical, core and bioproduction facilities, to measure between 1 and 8 microvolume nucleic acid and protein samples simultaneously.  The patented sample retention system allows you to assess the concentration and purity of samples as small as 1µL, while the multi sample capability allows you to analyze samples more efficiently.

NanoDrop 8000 Spectrophotometer features:

  • Wide spectral range (220 – 750nm) for measuring a variety of samples types:
    • DNA and RNA (260nm)
    • Purified protein (280nm)
    • Toxicology assays and industrial dyes (490nm)
    • Gold nanoparticles (520nm)
    • Colorimetric protein assay (BCA 562nm, Bradford 595nm, Modified Lowry 650nm, Pierce 660 660nm)
    • Optical Density measurements (600 nm)
  • No dilutions required
  • Only requires 1-2 µL of your sample
  • Calculates sample purity ratios (260/280 nm and 260/230 nm)
  • Measure up to 96 samples in less than six minutes
  • Choose to measure form 1 to 8 samples in one measurement cycle
  • Pre-configured methods for DNA, Protein A280, Microarray, Protein and Labels, Pierce 660, Bradford, BCA, and Lowry
  • Patented sample retention system automatically optimizes pathlength to accommodate low and high concentrations (2.5 to 3,700 ng/µL dsDNA)
  • User-friendly software that includes custom methods and data export capabilities
